JOB SUMMARY

Perform a variety of administrative functions to support the IHB Projects, to include but not limited to ongoing COVID vaccines, testing, assigned projects, and organizational quality improvement initiatives

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Organize and support vaccination and testing events onsite and offsite.
Patient scheduling, outreach, and recall.
Patient registration. (collecting all pertinent demographic and insurance information)
Data Entry information into the appropriate software.
Reporting data to appropriate entities.
Ordering and inventory of supplies.
Assist with reports, collect data, for organization needs.
Assist with infection control initiatives.
Other duties deemed necessary by supervisor.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

Knowledge of and respect for American Indian cultures and other cultures served by IHB
Neatness in appearance.
Knowledge of and ability to adhere to Indian Health Board policies including Attendance Policy.
Ability to understand and meet the needs of the patients through respectful, courteous and caring interactions with patients, families and other health professionals.
Knows, understands and adheres to organizational policy related to the patient's rights for confidential care.
Actively participates and works positively, flexibly, and cooperatively in a team effort to accomplish the goals of the Indian Health Board of Minneapolis.
Must have a valid Driver's License and the ability to drive to various vaccine events as required.

TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE

High School diploma or equivalent, AA preferred.
Computer experience required.
A minimum of 2+ year Medical or dental scheduling experience required
Experience with Electronic Health Records scheduling preferred (Centricity a plus)

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The work requires some physical exertion such as long periods of standing, walking, recurring bending, crouching, stooping, stretching, reaching, or similar activities; recurring lifting of children up and in excess of 50 pounds. The work may require specific, but common, physical characteristics and abilities such as above-average agility and dexterity. The work environment involves high risks with exposure to potentially dangerous situations requiring a range of safety and other precautions.

IHB makes reasonable efforts to limit access to and use of protected health information (PHI) by employees to the minimum necessary performance of assigned duties as outlines in job descriptions. This position is access restricted to PHI needed to carry out health care operations.
